FrontierPath

Map the Frontier of a Field. Find Where to Bet.

The Problem

A researcher — or a research-driven founder — standing in front of a field wants three things that no search engine or chatbot answers well:

  1. What is the whole frontier? Not "the five papers everyone cites," but the complete landscape of directions the field is pushing in, including the adjacent and emerging sub-areas that aren't obvious yet.
  2. Which direction is worth my time? Of those directions, which are saturated dead-ends, which are crowded-but-incremental, and which are early, tractable, and high-impact — where will something actually happen, and where is it lucrative to be.
  3. Where does it go next? Given the current map, what is the next trend, what does it depend on, and what is the single best bet for genuinely novel work.

Today people answer this by reading for months, asking senior people, and guessing. The signal is locked inside papers; the synthesis lives only in a few experts' heads.

The Solution

FrontierPath turns that synthesis into a repeatable, inspectable workflow: ingest seed papers, map the whole frontier of the field, choose which directions are worth pursuing, expand and split the promising areas, score and rank them, and predict where the field goes next. The result is a frontier map you can actually reason over — the kind of synthesis that used to live only in a senior researcher's head, made into an inspectable tool.

Market Opportunity

Research intelligence tools serve a multi-billion-dollar market spanning academic researchers, R&D teams, and the fast-growing population of independent and AI-augmented investigators. As AI gets better at reading technical text, the bottleneck moves from "can a machine read the paper" to "can a human see the whole field and choose where to bet." FrontierPath is built for exactly that judgment problem.

Vision

FrontierPath's long-term vision is to be the default surface through which serious people engage a scientific field — not a document store, but a strategy environment where the frontier is a map you can search, score, and forecast against.
